Eli Trenary

Eli Trenary is a graduate student pursuing an M.S. in Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. While his direct animal training experience has mostly been with his pet dog, Winnie, his passion lies in the science of behavior. He came to UNT to deepen his understanding of behavior analysis and to connect basic research with applied practice.

Eli’s research interests are translational in nature. He is particularly interested in conducting experimental work that advances our understanding of behavioral phenomena and contributes to professional applications. Using the Portable Operant Research and Teaching Laboratory (PORTL) developed by UNT’s Dr. Jesús Rosales-Ruiz and Mary Hunter, Eli explores basic behavioral phenomena to inform applied work with both humans and animals. His current focus includes studying the resurgence phenomenon and exploring stimulus control techniques for teaching alternative behaviors.
